Tips in Cleaning Your Sneakers

06 December 2015
No matter how careful you are in wearing your sneakers, it will still end up dirty. Cleaning it regularly will keep it looking good and smelling good. I am personally uncomfortable of putting dirty shoes in washing machine. I'm afraid that tumbling process will break it. So even if it's a tedious job, I do the cleaning by hand.

Spot the difference

I know you have your own technique in cleaning your shoes or we might have same ways of taking care of our shoes.

Things you need:
  • old toothbrush
  • powder detergent
  • baking soda
  • towels
  • basin
  • lukewarm water

Why Use Baking Soda in Cleaning?
I love using baking soda in cleaning our sneakers as it easily wash away dirt. If there's unpleasing odor, baking soda will also help in removing such odor (not just masking the odor). Usually, it takes a day or two before washed shoes to dry up. Just remember not to put them under direct sunlight as the colors will fade and may even cause some parts to crack.

Hubby's and my sneakers

Okay, I'm done with five pairs of sneakers now. All looking good. Some even looks brand new. I still have 5 more pairs to clean.

How about you? How do you wash your shoes specifically your rubber shoes?
