Ebook Review: 13th Breath by SittieCates

18 November 2013
Every time I'm having a nice cup of chocolate, I always grab something to read. It makes the moment even more special. When a dear friend gave me a copy of her ebook, I got excited. So, before anything else, "Thank you Cates for the complimentary copy."

13th Breath: A Collection of Poetry and Prose. That's the title of the e-book written by Jacqueline Cates Flaviano also known as SittieCates, a Filipino-Thai author based in the Philippines whose works appear online and published in  local newspaper and magazines.

While I was reading every line of this ebook, I can feel Cates' emotions and thoughts. That's a true sign that every word, every phrase came from a sincere and hopeful person. Her style of saying little about the poem, made it a lot interesting. It took me to the time when each poem was written and it made me feel her sentiments during those days.

There are seven poems in this ebook. It's hard to pick the best one because all of them are equally beautiful. But I caught myself reading "To My Sweet Phantom of the Night" over and over again. Maybe because I can relate to it (wink).

The six blog posts on the other hand are Cates' way of stating her opinions on different topics. Each was written in a very light and easy to grasp style. You can imagine Cates conversing with you while you read her essays. Her fun and intelligent way of putting words together attracted me to read more of her works. Can I request for another ebook? I'm just kidding.

Along with this inspiring ebook, SittieCates also published two children's books entitled Sleepyhead? NOT and Are You There, God? It’s Me , Kaitlyn Zamora, Smiling at you . For parents out there, these are great books for your kids. You can check the ebook trailers at You Tube and I'm sure you will agree with me.

Lencilicious, thank you so much for this wonderful review! Now, I'm totally curious why you could relate to my poem, "To My Sweet Phantom of the Night." Do tell. I'd love to know more about that. :-) Take care. Once again, thank you so much!
